Mooring, lifting and storage

The saltings and creeks of Walton backwaters make a peaceful haven from everyday life with narrow creeks and small islands ideal for exploring. It is an area that Arthur Ransome knew well and set his book 'Secret Water' in.

In addition to the moorings, we can lift boats of up to 12 tonnes in weight. We offer storage for up to 160 boats with water and electricity supply at reasonable rates.

Masts can be unstepped and stored in our purpose built mast shed when boats come out for winter storage and re-stepped when the boat is ready to go back in the water. All boats are pressure washed after liftout.

Prices

Our moorings are situated along the Walton backwaters and offer excellent value for todays yachtsman. We provide 80 sets of swinging moorings at £1.13 per metre per week plus VAT and crown rent, and 20 sets of mud moorings for £5.75 per week plus VAT.

Buoyage and beacon work

We can provide on-station cleaning, examinations, maintenance and an exchange service, plus shore-based repair, refurbishment and replacement.

We have facilities to lift, clean and maintain channel buoys (up to 500Kg) using our MCA brown coded workboat. She is also used for beacons maintenance, survey work and guard boat, or to carry work equipment such as generators or welders. She is available for hire together with a fully qualified skipper at very competitive rates. Currently we maintain buoys and beacons for the Environment Agency, Tendring District Council, Anglian Water Authority and Harbour authorities.
